Kundalini Karisa

Karisa Johnston (Kundalini Karisa) is the founder of Unum Heart Yoga & Meditation and Unum Heart meditation Station. She plans to share this science with everyone who wants to know both locally & globally. Karisa has experienced with in her self the profound effects Kundalini Yoga & Mediation has had on her life and wants to share it with everyone she meets. 

Karisa has studied all over the world for her yoga training certifications. She has obtained her first 200 hr yoga certification in Kytheria Greece in 2010. She then went on to a Kundalini Yoga Self Mastery certification in Norsara Costa Rica, April of 2012. Karisa continued to studied in N.Y.C and became certificated for Prenatal yoga and Yoga for Special needs like Autism, ADHD, and Cerebral Palsy. In April of 2013 Karisa went to India to study for another 200hr certification in Kundalini yoga. In 2017 Karisa completed level 2 Kundalini yoga teacher training. She holds a four year degree in Psychology and is currently working on her Masters degree. Karisa offers individual and family healing counseling sessions along with human & animal healing sessions.

Karisa had developed specialty programs for people with Autism, PTSD and for those who suffer with Addiction. She collabrates with different schools on Long Island and NYC work with students and staff to connect to a deeper understand of mindfulness. She works with  special education departments by sharing ancient tools to help special needs people to experience life with a deeper sense of calm and connection. She also has expertise in work with children and young adults in gang related violence and PTSD. 

 Unum Heart Meditation Station was designed to create  corporate consciousness helping employees collaborate and producing constructively while feeling a deep sense of clam. Corporations contract Unum heart Meditation Station for their employees to  find relief in a very busy work environment.

Karisa private and group lessons are structured and scaled to your personal ability and desired achievements. Lessons range from learning and practicing Kundalini yoga, Vinyasa yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Meditation, and Mantra. She also teaches specific workshop that are structured around (Pranayama) Breath. Karisa teaches us how to breathe properly. She believes this is a tangible way to achieve inner peace. It does not matter your age or if your are a first time yoga student. Karisa works with levels of flexibility. Please be sure to make an appointment.

I started my yoga journey in December 2014. It’s only been about3-4 months but in those 3-4 months I’ve grown and learned so much. I’ve met absolutely amazing people along the way who have made such an impact on me I can’t even think of the words to describe it. One person in particular was my yoga teacher Karisa, for someone to be able to touch my hearth without saying a word to me was incredible. The first time I took her class was when yoga was very new to me. I was still not at my happiest and I was self-conscious. She walked into the room with pure joy and happiness. It took one breathing exercise for me to completely feel my heart chakra to open up. I had no idea what was happening. I felt a smile come on my face but tears falling from my eyes. It was confusing and I wasn’t sure what was wrong with me… I kept moving along the class and we ended with some chanting…. I have never chanted or heard about chanting before but I went with it… I got the most amazing experience.. i’ve learned to close my eyes and find inner peace. I have no words to thank the universe for bringing Karisa into my life. I just want to thank her for everything she has done. She might not even know it but she’s helped me grow and become a better version of myself. She is an amazing teacher and will always be teaching me something knew. Thank you.

Not only have I had the pleasure of Karisa being my spiritual guide and yoga mentor but I've also worked alongside with her teaching children with autism. Karisa brings an amazing amount of patience and guidance into her practice. The children we taught together responded positively to her calmness and soft spirit.
